SEO Audit for Service Businesses

Find out exactly what your website is doing, what it is missing, and what to fix first. Data from your actual Google Search Console, PageSpeed, and competitor analysis. Not a generic report.

Most service businesses know their website exists. Few know what it is actually doing. An SEO audit pulls real performance data from Google, tests your site against competitors, and identifies the specific issues that cost you leads. Beazy runs audits using Search Console data, PageSpeed Insights, Chrome UX Report field data, responsive testing across 10 devices, and manual on-page analysis. Every finding is verified against your actual HTML, not assumed from a third-party tool score.

The Problem

Why Do Service Businesses Lose Leads Without Knowing It?

Most service business websites have technical problems that are invisible to the owner but visible to Google. Broken pages, missing meta descriptions, slow mobile load times, and weak local signals all reduce your search visibility. You do not see the leads you are missing because those customers found a competitor instead.

A site can look fine in a browser and still have serious problems under the surface. One of our audit clients had 929 site errors, 173 broken pages, and 579 broken images. Their mobile PageSpeed score was 45 out of 100. The site looked normal when you visited it. But Google saw a site full of errors, slow to load on mobile, with hundreds of dead-end links sending crawlers nowhere.

Another common issue: 80% of their traffic was coming from the wrong country. An SEO audit revealed the site had no local targeting signals. No location pages, no structured data, no city-specific content. Google was sending the site to searchers in the US instead of their local service area in Vancouver.

These are not problems you discover by looking at your homepage. They show up in the data.

What We Check

What Does a Beazy SEO Audit Actually Cover?

A Beazy SEO audit covers five areas: technical health, on-page SEO, local search signals, competitive analysis, and AI search readiness. Every finding is verified by fetching your actual HTML and checking live data, not guessing from a tool score. You get a prioritized action plan with phases, not a list of 200 items.

Technical Health

We pull your Core Web Vitals from real user data (Chrome UX Report), not just lab simulations. We test mobile and desktop PageSpeed scores, identify broken pages and images, check crawl efficiency, and flag any plugin conflicts that hurt performance. Mobile performance is almost always the biggest gap for local service sites.

On-Page SEO

We fetch your top pages by impressions and verify the actual HTML. H1 tags, meta descriptions, title tags, content depth, heading structure, internal links. We check what Google actually sees, not what your page builder preview shows. Missing meta descriptions alone can suppress click-through rates across your entire site.

Local Search Signals

Google Business Profile completeness, NAP consistency (name, address, phone identical across all platforms), location page coverage, structured data markup (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage schema), and directory presence. For service businesses, local signals determine whether you appear in the map pack or get buried below the fold.

Competitive Analysis

We fetch the top 2-3 competitors ranking above you and compare side by side. Content depth, schema markup, trust signals, title and meta differences. This shows what competitors are doing that you are not. It also reveals gaps where you can outperform them with targeted content.

AI Search Readiness

AI systems like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews now answer search queries directly. 96% of AI Overview citations come from pages with strong trust signals (Wellows, 15,847 results). We check your schema markup, answer structure, FAQ coverage, and whether your content is formatted for AI extraction. This is the newest layer of search visibility, and most local businesses have zero preparation for it.

Responsive Testing

Does Your Site Actually Work on Every Device?

We test your site across 10 real viewport sizes, from 1440px desktop to 360px mobile. Most responsive problems are invisible until you test at the exact screen width where they break. Our automated testing catches horizontal overflow, broken form elements, console errors, and layout gaps that manual checking misses.

60%+ of local service searches happen on mobile. If your site has a form that overflows on iPhone SE, a button that is unreachable on Galaxy, or a hero image that pushes content below the fold on iPad, you are losing leads on the devices your customers use most.

We capture full-page screenshots at every viewport. You see exactly what your customers see. No guessing, no "it looks fine on my phone" assumptions.

Proof

What Happened When a Vancouver Photographer Got an Audit?

A Vancouver portrait photography studio came to Beazy with a site that looked professional but was generating almost no local leads. The audit uncovered 929 site errors, 173 broken pages, 579 broken images, and 66 missing meta descriptions. Mobile PageSpeed was 45. Within 6 months of fixing the issues and building location pages, organic clicks grew 93% and the studio ranked for 584 keywords (Google Search Console, Jul-Dec 2025).

What the Audit Found

  • 173 broken pages returning 4XX errors to Google
  • 579 broken images creating dead resources across the site
  • 66 pages missing meta descriptions
  • Mobile PageSpeed score: 45/100

What We Fixed

Technical cleanup resolved the 929 errors, broken pages, and broken images. Meta descriptions were written for all 66 pages. Mobile speed was optimized. Then we built 6 location pages targeting the cities the studio actually serves: Langley, North Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, Burnaby, and a seasonal campaign page for Christmas mini sessions.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an SEO audit take?

Most audits take 3-5 business days. If Google Search Console access is already set up, the data pull is faster. Complex sites with hundreds of pages may take slightly longer.

Do I need to give you access to anything?

Google Search Console access gives us the most complete data (clicks, impressions, ranking queries, indexing status). If you do not have it set up, we can still audit using PageSpeed, CrUX, and on-page analysis. We will help you set up Search Console if needed.

What if my site is brand new?

New sites benefit from a technical audit to catch issues before they compound. We check mobile performance, schema setup, content structure, and local SEO foundations. Starting clean means faster results when traffic begins.

How is this different from a free SEO tool?

Free tools like Lighthouse or Semrush give you scores and automated issue lists. A Beazy audit verifies every finding against your actual HTML, pulls real user performance data from Chrome UX Report (not just lab simulations), compares you directly against your top competitors, and delivers a prioritized fix plan. The difference is context: we tell you what matters for your specific business and what to fix first.

Do I have to hire Beazy to fix the issues?

No. The audit report is yours. The phased action plan is written clearly enough that your developer or another agency can execute it. If you want Beazy to handle the fixes, we can scope that separately based on the audit findings.
